Yep, sometimes they can be angels!

Site Foreman..ahh, Forewoman! Supervising her brothers as they crush the cans.

This must be the look of determination that everyone keeps asking me about.

Well hello, who is that then?? Lottery winning numbers indeed. Guess which family by the way managed to wast money by both him and me buying our first ever oz lotto tickets. money down the gurgler no doubt.

Now Leah, just don't let the naysayers intimidate you. Diet coke is a perfectly nutritious substance!!! LOL!!! It does look bad though doesn't it, that the only cans we have to crush are DC. Oh well it could be worse, they could all be VB or bundy! Oh wait, I think that may be one of Trevor's Bundy cans lurking in the picture.

I had taken a heap of photos of th kids crushing cans but lost my blogging mojo. Neek you mention Hamish's special crusher. I wa sfascinated by my 3 kids different approach to can crushing and picking up, and how it reflected their personalities. HAmish just stood their workinghard, like a beaver, putting all the cans in the grass catcher from the lawn mower, head down bum up until it was full and he tipped nto the wheelie bin. Lachlan took each can one by one, a drop kick here, a slam dunk there, a kamikazi jump crush on the next few, show boating and incorporating sports as always, actual output nothing on Hamish. Prue spent her time when not sitting in the DC box poking the hose in cans, playing with cans, until she decided to climb into the wheelie bin and direct from there. Not sure what that says about her at all! Oh, bossy diva maybe!?

LOL.... with all this can crushing going on - do they still have can recycling in Nyngan!!! The scout hall just up the road here does "Cash for can's", but I'm often too embarrassed to take my huge stash of Pepsi Max cans up there!

Our kids have collected cans for about 2 years, Tim thinks they should have work ethics early! They all go and do it, we broke two can crushers, so now Jake and Britt stomp on them and Laine and Fallon pick up the crushed ones. They have gotten over $1500 over the time they have started collecting, not all diet coke ans either, Tim takes them out scrounging after major events like Duck Creek races etc. He takes them to Dubbo or Orange to cash them in on his way to Bathurst. The kids are now saving for 2 dual screen DVD players for the car as our other ones died.

I must confess that I throw out more than I remember to save for them! Need to get a can receptacle closer to the back door maybe. We could have probably paid a small country's national debt by now if I was saving properly. When we take our first load we can get one of those big bags everyone tells me about. The wheelie bin is overflowing so it may time to do a run, even if only a few. The kids' grandpa actually got them going on it.
