Lachlan has really begun to do lots of lovely drawings and artwork these days, but the plate that he made at BBM today threw me back to the old days when his painting style really worried us. We were always concerned that, while Hamish brought home elaborate paintings that filled the page, using many colours, Lacho's paintings used 1-2 colours and 3 brush strokes at best. Now, looking at his xmas plate, I realise that we have been worrying un-necessarily. The problem wasn't with Lacho, it was that Trevor and I just didn't get it. He's a minimalist!
This is his version of "tree with 2 presents".
Ahhh... my boy.
He will be famous one day!

Well done, Laclan. I look at Jacks Wallaby St plate the year before he started school & at least you child knows what his is about. Jack just scrawled. Now he does the most elaborate drawings & you can actually see what he is drawing.
Hi Nicole,
I am glad you posted again, your blog has gone up in my estimation to being one of my 'addictive' blogs, that I am always checking in on to see the latest news.
Nicole I understand you were, in your pre children life a psych.
I wanted to tell you that my Department is crying out for psychs, absolutely desperate and definately willing to negotiate the likes of a flexible working agreement, which I am currently on. I am sure they would much prefer a psych two days per week rather than none at all.
My email is neggleton@bigpond.com if you are interested. Hope to hear from you soon.

I have just had a brilllinat idea. I was tossing up making Christmas cards this year. Now i have a perfect plan. I will get a heap of blank card and get kids like lacho and hamish and prue to draw pictures on them for me!!!!! I love the minimalist design. Just love it
Lachlan reminds me of Jack. He will "come good", don't worry! Jack went from either not bothering with art and craft at preschool - or doing horrid splotches of awful brown, black and khaki - to getting quite good marks in his report for his school art!! I was so proud of him for that, because I used to worry!
Trevor.... these men were saving themselves for marriage. God only knows their fate if i got hold of them. really...you should know better.
