Quick catch up

As I have been leaving rude messages on other people's blogs, insttucting them to update please, I thought I had best do a quick update of mine. Well I have been trying to find time to upload some photos, of the many things we have been up to, but as yet have had no time. So here is a verbal run down.

We had a quick, unplanned trip to Sydney, staying 2 nights and one in Dubbo on the way home. The boys think it was the "greatest holiday ever" and told Chantelle at preschool that we stayed at the Holiday OUT (Holiday Inn). Although it was a rushed trip it was actually nice to be confined to a car all weekened with just the five of us for some catch up time. The kids acted like real bush bunnies, as amazingly it has been two years since we have been to Sydney!!!'

Hamish: "There are a lot of cars in Syd-e-ney".

They enjoyed the lovely big motel with massive rooms, the huge and WW-threatening buffet breakfast, and tunnels on the motorway. We caught up with Scott and Mel, trevor's best friend, and their new little baby Jack who we had yet to meet. The poor little bugger is 14 months old. We also caught up with one of my closest friends, felicity, her husband Andrew, and their little girl Isabelle, who is 12 months old and again, who we had never met.

We also did some home improvement shopping. The purpose of the trip was that Scott had discovered some real bargains in home renovations that were worth the trip down. He knows that we want to do up our bathroom, enclose the verandah, and do up Trevor's Dad's bathroom and kitchen. He had discovered a home building company who were having a clearing sale of sorts of excess goods, baths, toilets, vanities, sinks, sliding screen doors and entry doors.

So we got some stuff, and Trevor has to go back in the truck and pick it up (Somehow he bought a second hand landcruiser ute while we were down there too), and then of course we have to get the jobs done. Don't hold your breath on that score though will you.

Since being home we have had the preschool concert, the boys sang and did the actions beautifully. They also received their "diplomas" from preschool!!! It was a nice night for all of us. Over the weekend since Friday right through to Sunday we have had xmas parties, or gone out for tea with people for xmas drinks, and the kids have ahd some late nights. I shudder to think how tired they will be this week. But I will not know!I am off to Club Dub today, and the kids are staying with Trevor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, it will be the first time I have been to Dubbo on my own since Prue was born, 2 years 8 months and 5 days!!!!!!!!!!! Of course I have to drink a litre of water and hold it for god knows how long so I can have an ultrasound and work out these mystery pains, that is the BIG downside of the day, I ahte that whole process. Anyway, I can hear the kiddies waking up, best go. Will post some piccies soon. I am off to be ON MY OWN!!!!!!!!!!!!

I live in hope of every getting to Nyngan, let alone Dubbo, child free. Hope you took full advantage of the situation and treated yourself. I also hope the ultrasound went well.

Well done on the reno score. Looks like Trevor will be busy for a while. Happy shopping, make the most of it. I would have squeezed in a trip to the beautician for manicure or pedicure while at it!
