Well isn't this a nice birthday present!
These are just a few shots of our driveway, the mighty Bogan river, and the Mitchell Highway in front of Old Kidgery.
We actually went to town last night, and came home by 11:30pmintending to be here in case the storm became fierce. By the time we reached home we already had about 3 inches. It took 20 minutes to drie 4km's of driveway, and the house was already being threatened by the waters. So from midnight until about 2am Trevor was pulling pumps out from where they were drowning in dams, and setting up pumps at the house levee. He also had to venture down to the river paddock where he had locked up much of our stock on the more abundant feed form recent rain. The river paddock is flooding so Trevor had to open up gates and let the cattle get to higher ground.
After approximately 110mls by the end of the rain today we are now surrounded by water. We may have had more but have no record given the gauge was ona bad angle for some of the time. The water is rising as it comes down towards us from all of our neighbours on it's way to the river. The house levee bank is being pumped out as we are completely surrounded by water and close to having a flooded house. There is actually so much water that we can't do our usual family drive all over the place to admire the rain! We don't want to get bogged!

Oh my! Oh my! that is some water!! I thought we had lots of water - but you take the cake!!
I do hope ( and I cannot believe I am about to say this!) that you have a 'dry' Christmas!!!
I do assume that you cannot go anywhere - like town - with that amount of water??
Holy Crap!!!..... I haven't seen that much water for a long, long time. Happy Birthday, by the way. I take it Trevor had every intention of wining & dining you until Mother Nature took over!
